The CloudVeneto infrastructure is available to the users and collaborators of the University of Padova and of following INFN units:

Many functionalities are available from the CloudVeneto web dashboard to deploy your services on the infrastructure.

For example you can create and manage:

Virtual Machines

You can select the preferred operating system, the number of VCPUs, RAM and hard disk sizes according to your needs

Storage

Three kind of storage are available:

ephemeral storage existing only for the life of a virtual machine instance
persistent volumes, independent of any particular instance, that may be attached to a single instance at a time, much like a USB drive;
object storage, allowing to store and retrieve potentially lots of data with a simple API, ideal for storing unstructured data that can grow without bound.

Batch cluster on cloud

The virtual machines provided by CloudVeneto can be used to implement batch clusters where users can run their applications (normal jobs or docker containers).

Container-as-a-Service (CaaS) Platform

CaaS offers a fully managed orchestration platform based on Kubernetes: you can effortlessly deploy your container based applications with no need of an in-depth understanding of the Kubernetes infrastructure management.

Moreover, CloudVeneto is part of the national INFN Cloud Federation. Thus, if you are affiliated with INFN, you can register with INFN Cloud and use their wide service portofolio based on composable, scalable, open-source solutions.
